ABOUT ME
I’m Michael Buckland, a UK based filmmaker and photographer creating story driven video and visual content for outdoor brands and unique stays.
I’m drawn to work that feels intentional. For me, strong video is not just about how something looks, but about how it’s experienced. I focus on narrative, pacing and atmosphere, creating content that holds attention and communicates a clear sense of place or brand, rather than chasing whatever happens to be trending.
I live and work from a self converted van, which allows me to travel easily and work on location. That flexibility means I can adapt quickly to different environments, whether that’s remote landscapes, coastal settings or character led spaces, and spend more time capturing work in its natural context.
I value a collaborative and straightforward working process. I like projects to feel clear, calm and well considered from the first conversation through to final delivery, with visuals that serve a purpose and reflect the brand honestly.
How I approach video creation
Every project starts with understanding why the content exists. Who it’s for, where it will live, and what it needs to communicate. That clarity shapes every creative decision that follows.
From there, I build around story and feeling. I’m interested in flow, atmosphere and rhythm, shaping visuals that feel cinematic but grounded, and that work naturally across digital platforms.
In the edit, I keep things restrained and intentional. Pacing and tone matter more than effects. The aim is always to create something that feels considered, holds attention, and doesn’t try too hard.
Content can look good or it can work. The aim is always both.
